Senate version of the mining law revision
Mining advocates in Arizona are warning that the proposed changes to the 1872 Mining Law will be bad for the industry, and especially for small and medium sized companies.
The U.S. Senate introduced S2750, "The Abandoned Mine Reclamation Act of 2008" last month as their version of the mining revision effort. The House previously introduced HR2262, "The Hardrock Mining and Reclamation Act of 2007"
S2750 is referred to the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee. [above: copper-molybdenum mines in Arizona. Credit: Asarco]
