AZGS Section Chief Phil Pearthree is in the field with Kyle House from the Nevada Bureau of Mines & Geology examining the aftermath of recent flooding along the lower Verde River. Kyle is blogging about what they are finding at one of his blogs, "Fresh Geologic Froth."
The pair went to the field to see what happened after the river hit a peak discharge of 115,000 cfs on Jan. 21-22. The picture at right gives you a sense of what the flow did. [right, Phil Pearthree in flood debris on the Verde. Photo by Kyle House, NBMG]
