The Arizona Book Awards winner for the Science category went to Flagstaff geologist-writer-guide Wayne Ranney for "
Sedona Through Time." The Arizona Book Publishers Association presented Wayne the award at the annual
Glyph Awards banquet in Phoenix on May 7. "Sedona Through Time" offers a geologic tour not only across the Sedona region, but through geologic time, putting each unit in context with it's paleoenvironment. It's beautifully illustrated with Wayne's photography and Ron Blakey's paleo-maps.
Congratulations, Wayne! Well deserved.
This looks like a very interesting book. Hikers, geology enthusiasts, and those that visit Sedona should all be interested in what this book may offer them about this very unusual place in our state.
