Friends and colleagues driving between Phoenix and Tucson have been reporting thick dust storms since Sunday. But yesterday Phoenix experienced another massive haboob, perhaps not as dramatic as the one that rolled through a couple weeks ago, but still impressive. My husband and I had a great view of the haboob -- we were driving to Phoenix on I-17, on our way back from Oak Creek Canyon, where we got happily drenched in an afternoon thunderstorm. We realized a habbob was moving in by the time we got to the Peoria exit (driving South). It looked pretty spectacular. All in all, a satisfying day . . .
