Mining, minerals showcased on Arizona Experience

We rolled out "Mining and Mineral Resources" as the March theme on the new virtual Arizona Experience website last week, with new materials being added throughout the remainder of the month.

The new content includes video interviews, historical photos, oral histories, interactive maps, and slide shows. Featured artist Jeff Scovill, of Phoenix, shows how to take world class photos of mineral specimens. The Mason Coggin photo collection is also on display. The March feature on Mining and Minerals was a very nice recapping of Arizona's rich history. The entire Virtual Arizona Experience should have been the signature project of our Centennial. I wish it had been planned and started much earlier as it would have made a great countdown to our 100th birthday on Feb. 14. This project needs to stand on its own and kept free of the controversy surrounding the Arizona Experience Museum signature project that caused the closing of our historic Mining and Mineral Museum and has little to no chance of happening.

  2. Great information there, I have always wondered the right way to go about this, thanks for showing me! Your post is really straight forward but all too often you will over look them.
