Volunteers and donors to the Arizona Mining & Mineral Museum were honored last night in Phoenix at an annual banquet held in the museum.
Volunteers contributed 9,730 hours to the museum in 2010, which is equal to nearly four full time workers for a year.

Unfortunately, few recognize what these people accomplished. With just one state paid employee, this museum became one of the top 10 metropolitan Phoenix museums. It is on over 10 top ten lists, and US News Travel just added it to theirs also.
ReplyDeleteIt simply makes no sense to replace it with a museum managed by an agency that never achieved anything comparable even though generously funded with taxpayer dollars.
