AZGS is publicly demonstrating for the first time, the potential of the National Geothermal Data System at the
Geothermal Summit being held in Reno, Nevada today and tomorrow. AZGS is the prime contractor on a DOE funded project to bring digital data from all 50 states into NGDS to support geothermal energy exploration and development nationwide.
Project members Kim Patten and Celia Coleman are running live interactive demos, integrating data and maps from dozens of state geological surveys, federal agencies, and universities in live feeds from data centers across the country. [

The Summit is addressing
concerns that the U.S. is not taking advantage of the vast geothermal resources we have, and that we are falling behind other countries in pursuing this renewable energy resource.
