Gigapixel panoramas of geology
Gigapixel panoramas of the Grand Canyon [right top] and other spectacular geology sites, are posted at the GigaPan website.
AGI sent out an email today, describing some of the highlights from Earth Science Week 2008.
The GigaPan website launched a series of collections of GigaPan images of landforms and geologic processes. Each day, a new collection of geoscience-themed GigaPans was featured. You can zoom into selected areas on the panoramas for tremendous detail [right, bottom].
The site allows you to set up a free account where you can log in, take “snapshots” within GigaPans, and annotate them to share your discoveries with other users.
