A collection of Iceland volcano blog and news sites

GSA Connection, the e-magazine of the Geological Society of America, was sent out today with a compilation of excellent blogs, news sites, and other online resources covering the eruption in Iceland.   The blog post at "Starts with a Bang," for instance, offers amazing photos of lightning at the volcano, with a fascinating explanation of why the association occurs.    [right, NASA photo, taken March 24, 2010]

Eyjafjallajökull Volcano

  1. Thanks for posting this! I appreciate the note about GSA Connection.

  2. The "Economist" compared an eruption in Iceland (1362) as the biggest in Europe since Santorini.

  3. Nice blog you have. A volcano is also located in Santorini. You can find out more about it at and also about this Greek island.

  4. Excellent stuff with wonderful information! I'm new here and loving the post! This is great information. I appreciate the sincere appreciation. Thank you.
