Meteorites discovered from 1998 Casa Grande 'fireball'

Meteorite hunters say they have recovered the first fragments from a June 1998 meteorite impact in the Casa Grande area.   Sonny Clary writes on his Nevada Meteorites blog that he and colleagues found a number of small meteorite pieces last week that they have sent off for identification and classification. In addition, they stumbled across numerous backpacks from drug smugglers and a human skeleton.  You need to read his blog post.

Thanks to Rob Reisener, who was a member of the discovery team, for sharing the news.
