Havasu Canyon reopened to the public
The Havasupai Tribe reopened the popular tourist destination of Havasu Canyon today, nearly 10 months after flash floods forced evacuation of campers and shut down tourist facilities until they could be rebuilt or relocated.
An article in today's Arizona Republic describes the extent of last summer's damage which caused the most significant changes to the canyons geography in more than a century. [right, my photo of the erosion along Havasu Creek, downstream from Supai Village]
