Declaration of Economic Injury from Havasu Canyon flooding
The U. S. Small Business Administration issued a Declaration of Economic Injury yesterday for the State of Arizona as a result of losses to the Havasupai Tribe from flooding last October. This will allow the Tribe to apply for lower interest loans while they repair damages to the Havasu Canyon tourist facilities that are the lifeblood of the Tribe's economy. The canyon is still closed to the public until further notice.
