Geothermal well to be drilled for Willcox greenhouses
Willcox Greenhouse has permitted a 4,000 foot deep well in the Willcox area to pump hot water up for use in their extensive tomato greenhouses. Based on a study done at Northern Arizona University a few years ago, the geothermal reservoir target is fractured permeability in rotated fault blocks just above a low-angle detachment fault underlying the Willcox basin. They expect to hit 135 F water at depth. [right, Willcox Greenhouse. Photo by Jim Witcher]

Geothermal wells are eco friendly since there is no emissions or fossil fuels burned. Heating, cooling and hot water at a fraction of the cost of fossil fuels.
