Mars orbiter back at work - HiRise photos should resume
NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter was taken out of the precautionary "safe mode" last week that it had been in since August. That means the UA-run HiRise camera aboard MRO should start returning new photos soon.
While the spacecraft was out sick, the HiRise team was re-calibrating and re-processing existing images and making them more consistent and developing new products. I'm looking forward to more amazing shots like this one taken last August before the MRO problems forced JPL to put the craft in safe mode. [right, Martian barchan dunes (ESP_014404_1765)
