Seamless image of the night sky
The largest and clearest image of the night sky ever produced—a terapixel image, was announced this morning at the Microsoft Faculty Summit using the WorldWide Telescope and Bing Maps. The Terapixel project by Microsoft Research stitched together nearly 1,800 sky images [left] into a seamless panorama [right]. The final product is spectacular.
