Arizona contributes to Science Channel's - "Copper: How It's Made"

We hear that a new episode of the Science Channel's HOW IT'S MADE cable show looks at how copper is produced, with help from Arizona experts and companies.    A note from Rick Grinnell at the Southern Arizona Business Council says  Asarco teamed with Productions MAJ, Inc., the production company that produced a feature on copper.  [Photo credit, Freeport McMoRan Copper & Gold]

A double segment on copper which  aired on January 3, 2013 will rerun several times this month.  The next airing is set for January 10 at 9:30 pm.

Asarco acknowledges Dr. Krishna Parameswaran who provided the producers with process descriptions detailing what it takes to produce copper and accompanied them to the units during filming.  The staff and management at Ray, Hayden and Amarillo aided the  producers with proper access and ensured that the filming was done safely and on time.

  1. I accessed this clip while in Singapore to teach U.S. expat Boy Scouts there about the Mining In Society Merit Badge.
    It was at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=89r8fIR34Gc
It is not available in the U.S. due to copy right restrictions which is quite disappointing.
