Two Phoenix-based copper companies are among the 100 largest mining companies in the world.
Freeport McMoRan Copper & Gold comes in at #8, while Southern Copper (Grupo Mexico) is #13 in the Mineweb.com list, based on their market capitalization. Freeport's value is $56.55 billion, and Southern Copper comes in at $41.43 billion.
