Nina at the Watch for Rocks blog reports that "the geology faculty of Southern Utah University in Cedar City is sponsoring a new symposium series on southwestern geology which they hope to sponsor each spring. The first symposium will be held March 31 - April 2, 2011 and will concentrate on the Beaver Dam Mountains of southwest Utah and the Virgin Mountains of northwest Arizona and southeast Nevada."
