Arizona Mining Advisory Council meets for first time

The Arizona Mining Advisory Council focused on organizational matters in its first meeting this week.   The Council was established by statute last year, with primary duties of 1. Reviewing mining policy in this state as established by law and as administered in all functional areas of state government, and 2. Reviewing, advising and making recommendations to state agencies on proposed rules and budget allocations affecting mining.

State Mine Inspector Joe Hart was chosen as Chair by the Council members.  The Council expects to meet every two months to begin, but long term, is likely to meet quarterly.
