Arizona geologist/musician Paul Jago describes his dual careers this way - "As to the relationship between geologist and musician, I am kind of like Happy Gilmore. I'd rather be playing music (hockey), but I'm really good at geology (golf) and lately, it pays the bills and treats me better."
Jago, who works at a copper mine, is featured in a write-up in CHARTattack that talks about his new band Said Dog, and their debut album, Nothing, AZ. His fascination with geologic time shows up in his songs, according to the interview.
The video below is from his former band, The Gandharvas, and their best-known song, The First Day of Spring.
