Bump in the night in northern Arizona


A magnitude 1.6 earthquake hit at 4 am on Thursday about 10 miles south of Colorado City, Arizona. near the Utah border. The time on the map at right is UTC rather than local time at the event.

This is an area of active small earthquakes linked to the Intermountain Seismic Belt that extends into Utah.
