Politico.com is reporting that Tucson congressman Raul Grijalva [right] is emerging as a top contender to be Secretary of Interior in the Obama administration.
Rep. Grijalva is chairman of the House Subcommittee on National Parks, Forests and Public Lands — and was just tapped as the new co-chairman of the Congressional Progressive Caucus. Recently, he's been getting a lot of attention for his efforts to stop uranium exploration near the Grand Canyon.
The Interior Dept. includes the USGS, BLM, National Park Service, Fish & Wildlife Service, MMS, and other agencies.
