Chromium petrified wood from Arizona

This piece of green petrified wood from Winslow Arizona caught my attention at the gem show. The vendor, from Kingman, said it's the result of chromium infusion in the agatization process. He said it comes from an extremely small occurrence on the Navajo Reservation, and fetches premium prices. The piece pictured was listed at $175.

  4. Chromated green is unique to the winslow area. But there is more than one occurance. If you wanna try your luck, exit 277. Good luck.
