Water quality conditions in basin-fill aquifers

The USGS released a new report today of GIS layers intended for use in analyzing water-quality conditions of basin-fill aquifers in the southwestern U.S. The basins provide the majority of water for arid and semi-arid areas of California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico.

The GIS layers include:
  • Hydrogeologic Area Boundaries
  • Elevation
  • Geology
  • Land Use
  • Precipitation
  • Population
  • Water Use
  • Public-Supply Water Use
  • Irrigated Agriculture Water Use
