The USGS released a new report today of GIS layers intended for use in analyzing water-quality conditions of basin-fill aquifers in the southwestern U.S. The basins provide the majority of water for arid and semi-arid areas of California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico.
The GIS layers include:
- Hydrogeologic Area Boundaries
- Elevation
- Geology
- Land Use
- Precipitation
- Population
- Water Use
- Public-Supply Water Use
- Irrigated Agriculture Water Use
