Northwest Arizona experienced a tiny earthquake on last Friday, along the southern part of the Hurricane Fault. The M=1.6 quake occurred around 6 AM local time. [Right, star marks quake epicenter. Other dots are historical earthquakes since 1990. Credit, USGS]
I really like knowing facts like this as an AZ resident of 19 plus years now. Since I may retire in a much more rural area, this type of info is helpful. Extreme NW Arizona is along that part of the fault line, however, I was still somewhat surprised. Quakes, even here, could become larger in the future.
