Gov. Jan Brewer has signed 43 bills into law so far this week as the Legislature moves towards adjournment today. Here are some of interest to the geoscience community:
HB2046 geographic; historic names board; continuation
HB2442 greenhouse gas emissions; regulations
SB1171 aggregate mining reclamation reports
SB1356 water bank; excess CAP water
SB1445 groundwater transportation; Big Chino sub-basin
Gov. Brewer also vetoed HB2215, "which would have created a method of industrial and commercial valuation of retention basins and set the value of retention basins at $500 per parcel," according to the Arizona Capitol Times.
