Injunction filed against Denison Mines uranium mine in Arizona Strip

A preliminary injunction has been filed to stop mining at Denison Mines' Arizona #1 uranium mine in the Arizona Strip [right, credit Denison Mines], by the group of organizations that filed suit against BLM last year for permitting the mine.  The injunctions was filed by the Center for Biological Diversity, Grand Canyon Trust, Sierra Club and the Kaibab Band of Paiute Indians, according to a report on Mineweb.com today.

The mine is inside the million-acre area 'segregated' by the Sec. of Interior and going through an EIS for possible withdrawal from mineral entry.

AZGS is a cooperating agency in the BLM EIS process and is currently review and commenting on technical reports provided by BLM.
