The first photos suggested by the public from the HiRise camera on the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter have been released by Univ. of Arizona.
The "HiWish" program evaluates recommendations from the public and chooses those that offer good scientific rationale.
UA planetary scientist and lead scientist for the project Alfred McEwen says they are looking for "fresh thinking outside the box."
